In October 2007, Jean-Luc Penso, founder of Théâtre du Petit Miroir received

the French-Taiwanese Cultural Foundation Award for his intercultural work.

Initiated in Taiwan for 5 years in the art of puppet theater and shadow theater by Master Li Tien Lu, one of the last great puppet masters of the island, Jean-Luc Penso created in 1978 the Théâtre du Petit Mirror.

Often taken from the great texts of world literature,

the Théâtre du Petit Miroir has created some thirty plays performed on five continents in more than eighty countries with the help of the French embassies, the Alliances Françaises and the French Institutes.

In Paris, his shows have been presented, among others, at the Théâtre National de Chaillot, at the Cité de la Musique, at the Lévi Strauss theater of the Quai Branly museum, at the Guimet museum, at the Pompidou Center, at the Théâtre de la Ville, at the museum de l'Homme, at the City of Sciences and Industry, at the French Academy etc. In the region at the Lille Opera, the Salle Poirel in Nancy, the Museum of Fine Arts in Toulon, the Museum of Asian Arts in Nice, the Gadagne Museum in Lyon, the Museum of Fine Arts in Besançon, and abroad at the Museum of China in Brussels, at the Museum of Oriental Arts (MAO) in Turin, at the Oriente Museum in Lisbon, at the Puppet Museum in Taipei, the Royal Institute of the Tropics in Amsterdam, the ethnology museums of Geneva and Zurich, at the Asia Society of New York, at the Cairo Opera House and in many cultural establishments.
